After the successful debut in 2016, the Extreme Sailing Series, one of the most emblematic competitions of Vela, returns to Madeira for the third stage of the 2017 season, to be held between June 29 and July 2, Event that counts with the support of the Regional Government of Madeira and Organization of the Regional Association of Sailing of Madeira.
The Extreme Sailing Series brings together the best teams of professional sailors, who have already passed the America's Cup or the Olympic Games, for a total of 7 teams.
As a novelty in competition, they join the GC32 Catamarans, 16 Flying Phantoms, smaller and light catamarans with only 2 sailors. Thus, a true "Festival of Foiling" will be attended between the 10 of the morning and the 17 hours of Thursday to Sunday.
The competitions will take place in the bay of Funchal, very close to the coast, and can be closely monitored at Pier 8, with free benches, entertainment, food and drinks and an interactive and recreational area for children.
